It is filled by Visconti’s patented power filler. The fountain pen features Visconti’s own palladium Dreamtouch nib in several sizes: extra-fine, fine, medium, broad and stub. The Visconti Wild West is available as a fountain pen or a rollerball pen. All the trim on the pen is made of aged sterling silver to recall Silverton, Colorado, the famous mining camp. The blind cap features two revolvers whose barrels cross, and the pen's plunger (used for filling the fountain pen with ink) is decorated with a sheriff’s star. ![]() Thus leather was used to wrap the pen’s cap, hot embossed in the style of a cowboy's saddle and boots. All other components of the pen are inspired by the same era. Visconti’s familiar logo, normally seen on the clip is here replaced with the words “Wild West” in a font type recalling a typical Western saloon. The cowboy with his lasso held high and his steed are amazingly detailed, thanks to Visconti’s artisans and their hard-earned scrimshaw techniques. A cowboy on his horse, riding through the prairie, is a familiar symbol of that period in history, and here it is replicated on the ivory resin barrel of the pen. Using Visconti’s sophisticated scrimshaw style, Wild West imagery is beautifully rendered on the body of the pen. Italian luxury manufacturer Visconti has taken a kinder, gentler approach with its new Wild West collection, which honors the American Frontier with an artfully crafted pen-the mightiest weapon of all.
